U ask: Who
is allowed to sell me insurance in Israel?
Norman answers: All issues relating to insurance
in Israel are supervised by the Government Insurance Regulator
who works in the Ministry of Finance and ensures that various
Laws passed by the Knesset relating to insurance are properly
carried out.
Only a qualified Government Licensed Agent is allowed to
sell insurance in Israel. After studies, exams and internship,
Agents receive a license to advise and sell insurance policies.
These licenses need to be renewed annually and you are entitled
to request to see your Agent's license. One is best advised
to also use an Agent who is a member of the Professional
Insurance Agents Association.
